Black Afterglow by Providence the Poet

When I was first introduced to Providence, through his extended play (EP) he presented me with a story of a troubled young man, on the run from the world, lost and adrift in the wilderness. He asked for my help to visually bring this story to life. We opened up the world of Black Afterglow and created a distinct vision for how we wanted it to look.
Choice of medium, colours, location, wardrobe and design: I was able to distill Providence’s story into all of these elements to create an evocative cover image, and accompanying art for each song on Black Afterglow. The artwork for Black Afterglow was the first project I shot exclusively on 35mm film.
